Love’s Paradigm

If you were a word, it’d be mine.

But words are sold at a price, where the heart could never tell it’s dateline.

And till then, I rather you be moments that I oath for a lifetime.

For the weight of words, are Love’s Paradigm.

The Poet’s Lover

My words bled the ink I lost from all the poetry I wrote about you.

But I’d still write again.

Even if it meant that I’ll bleed dry, to own a heart that was never mine.

For you owned my world of words, and time.

Trusting His Plans

As I stepped in to the mosque, I often wonder why You’d put me here. The weakest of your servants in Your home.

Flawed though hidden, I don’t deserve the slightest shade Your roof provided me, not even in this dunya when I sinned. I sinned beyond any of your creation’s mind could have thought, but you covered me with the purest of blankets I could have never afford.

You protected my dignity from falling to the pits of anger and disappointments for the people I love.

As I stood here, once more, stepping into Your home I wonder will You ever forgive me.

Ya Rabb, I know You’re the most merciful. You’ve opened the door to Your home for me, and now I’m begging You to open the door of forgiveness for me.

Guide me for I know not, for I’m in dire need of every light to come through this sorrowful dark heart. Guide me on how to attain practices of every verses that Your Beloved part.

I’m in desperate need to be kept in Your light and I realise then why You’d put me here. I realise then it’s where I needed to be to start my journey back to my eternal home.

Keep me in Your light and path till then. Keep me here and I’ll promise I’ll trust Your plans. Promise me You’ll give me the purest end.

Love sick

You felt it didn’t you
And you got scared
To give the piece of your heart that has lived

Through the highs and lows that life has brought
But just this time you thought

Wanting to open your heart’s door
And he’ll promise it to be forever more

But instead, you ran away hoping he’ll follow
but honey, it’s not a game of hide and seek
For it’s a game of reaping what you sow

Now, take your pick
To be or not to be, love sick.

Ramadan Kareem

For every year, we meet the blessed month once.

For this year, I hope it’ll never be our last one.

But if it’d be our last year, I pray it’d be the best of all the years you had with Ramadan.

And till then, I wish you a Ramadan Kareem to you and your loved ones.

Laylat al-Nisf min Sha`ban

It’s one of those nights,
You’ll grant our longing and answer our plights.

It’s one of those nights,
I know You are the All-Hearing through my temporal world’s fights.

And it’s one of those nights,
I know I’m undeserving,
but You are the All-Forgiving

Hence, I’m asking,
For You to keep me in the path of Your Light.

For it’s one of those nights,
I yearn and seek the love and mercy of the Almight.

May our prayers be answered by The All-Giving, our Creator tonight.

Amin.

Way too often

Too often, we chose the easier road in comforting someone’s loss and grief.

Too often,we chose the easier road to comfort our desires when we claim to be the people of belief.

Too often, we chose our worldly success when we knew that our ends are similarly at the ground beneath.

For it’s way too often, that we forgot about our time here, that is short lived.
